Holiday Shipping Cutoff Calculator

Work backwards from your target holiday delivery date — subtracting carrier transit time, your handling time and a safety buffer — to find the last date you can safely advertise for orders, with a copy-ready banner for your store.

Find the last order date
Work backwards from the day the order must arrive to find the last date you can safely advertise for orders.

Results are estimates for planning only, based on configured typical transit times and holiday calendars. They are not carrier guarantees. Confirm critical deadlines with the carrier.

How It Works

  1. 1

Pick the date the order must arrive — for example, December 24 for Christmas gifting.

  2. 2

Choose your carrier service plus ship-from and ship-to regions; the tool looks up typical business-day transit for that lane.

  3. 3

Add your handling time and an optional safety buffer. Weekends and configured US holidays are skipped automatically.

  4. 4

Get your store order-by date with the send-by source, days remaining and a copy-ready banner for announcements and product pages.

Example

  1. Target: delivery before December 25, 2025.
  2. UPS Ground, Midwest to West: about 5 business days of transit, so the carrier send-by date lands around December 18.
  3. Subtract 2 handling days plus a 1-day buffer: 3 more business days back from the send-by date.
  4. Order-by date: December 15, 2025 — publish it in your banner, checkout messaging and order-confirmation emails.

Accuracy & Limitations

  • US domestic shipping only in v1 — lanes cover US regions, including Alaska, Hawaii and US territories, but not international destinations.
  • Results are planning estimates, not guarantees. Unless a carrier-published send-by date is configured, transit times are typical estimates and real transit can vary with peak volume and weather.
  • Carrier rules change every holiday season — cutoff dates, surcharges and service availability are updated seasonally, so always verify final deadlines with the carrier before publishing them to customers.
  • No live carrier API: the tool runs entirely on configured transit estimates and a configured 2025–2026 US holiday calendar, so dates outside those years skip weekends only and cannot reflect carrier-specific peak-season calendars.
